The College of Education and External Studies will be participating in the 2nd Nairobi Innovation week from 1st -5th August 2016. This year’s theme is “Partnerships for innovation that truly impact people and societies”

Staff and students from the College of Education and External Studies will be actively involved in major activities throughout the week- long event.

College activities: Nairobi Innovation Week

  • The first activity is a Key Panel Discussion on “Implications of Curriculum Reforms on University Education.”  This will be held on Monday 1st August 2016 at 8.15 a.m. at the Education Building. The Panel will be facilitated by Dr. Andrew Riechi; a senior Lecturer at School of Education, Department of Educational Administration and Planning.
  • Academic Members of staff will also present various papers on 2nd August 2016.
  • Various Innovations will be exhibited at the College stand from 3rd to 5th August 2016 at the Great Court, University of Nairobi.

Over 1500 people have registered to participate in the 2nd Nairobi Innovation Week. A list a dignitaries and Industry expert will also be in attendance. Key among the dignitaries expected to participate in the event are; 3 Cabinet Secretaries, 2 Principal Secretaries, The World Bank Country Director, 1 Ambassador, 5 international guests, 5 regional guests,  22 local CEOs, Country Directors and Managing Directors, 5 VC’s from  partner Universities. 6 high schools and 100 exhibitors will be In attendance.

The event has also attracted five strategic partners; Ministry of Education, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives, Ministry of ICT,UNICEF and KEPSA.

The Nairobi Innovation Week is an annual event that was launched last year August, 2015. It comprises of keynote speeches in plenary sessions, policy discussions, research paper and case study presentations, round-table discussions as well as exhibitions of inventions and innovations by individual innovators, start-ups and organizations.
