CEES Teaching staff trained on Turnitin and ORCID

Teaching staff of the College of Education and External Studies are attending a 2 day training (11th and 12th February 2016) on TURNITIN plagiarism detection software and Open Researchers and Contributors Identity (ORCID) Platform.

During the hands-on-training facilitators presented  a detailed demo of how the 2 softwares work and how the teaching staff will be using the Turnitin software in their day-to-day work of supervising projects and marking assignments. The scholars also opened ORCID accounts that will ensure all their published work is easily traced back to them.

 The training is in line with the University of Nairobi’s Mission;  “To Provide quality University education and training and to embody the aspirations of the Kenyan people and the global  community through creation, preservation, intergration, transmission and utilization of knowledge”  

TheUniversity is committed to improving services and using up-to-date innovations and softwares to preserve and transknowledge. A similar training has been conducted across all six Colleges and main Campus.

Also present during the training were Dean; School of Education Prof Akala, heads of Departments, Director CODL, Library and ICT staff.

The trainers are staff from the library and ICT centre.
