Pope Francis to Celebrate Mass at UoN grounds

Preparations are well underway to host His Holiness, Pope Francis who will be celebrating Holy Mass at the University of Nairobi grounds on Thursday, November 26, 2015 from 10.00 am.

A special altar has been constructed on the University grounds where the Pope will celebrate Mass. Thousands of people across the country are expected to attend the mass which will also be televised live on national TV.

The pope will be in the country for 3 days from November 25th to 27th, 2015. During his visit His Holiness Pope Francis will meet with President Uhuru, visit St. Josephs Church in Kangemi and also give a presenation to the youth at the Kasarani Stadium. This visit will be Pope Francis’s first to Kenya and the Continent since he became pope in 2013.

Kenya has in the past played host to the former Pope, Pope John Paul II  on three separate occassions in 1980, 1985 and 1995.
