Chancellor's Court, University of Nairobi
On Friday, 2nd September 2016; the University of Nairobi held the 55th congregation for the conferment of degrees and award of Diplomas at the Chancellor's Court. A total of 4,448 graduates were confered Degrees and awarded Diplomas. Out of the total list of Graduands; 2,553 graduated from the College of Education and External Studies.
This year, the College produced 7 PhDs awards, 333 Master Degree Awards, 16 Post Graduate Diploma awards, 1,311 Bachelors Degree Award and 886 ordinary Diplomas. Graduands were drawn from the School of Education and School of Continuing and Distance Education.
The event was presided over by the Chancelor Dr. Vijoo Rattansi who urged graduates to go out and take calculated risks as the rewards will be worthwhile. She encouraged everyone to uphold values of integrity and professionalism. The Vice Chancellor; Prof. Peter Mbithi, while addressing the graduands and invited guests expressed his gratitude to the dedicated members of staff that continually work to meet the University's strategic objectives. He also assured the graduating class of September 2016 that the quality of education receievd from this institution remains unparalleled in the region.
During the Graduation Ceremony Mr. Peter Kahara Munga; a distinguished businessman was confered with a Degree of Doctor of Letters.
