The much awaited Unichef Restaurant located at the library hill, next to Cees library was officially opened on Thursday 22, September 2016 by the deputy vice chancellor, student affairs Prof. Isaac Mbeche.
The restaurant management which thanked the University management for the opportunity promised to provide tasty, quality and affordable food varieties for both students and staff. They also offer outside catering, co-operate functions and also cater for wedding receptions.
Speaking during the official opening ceremony at the premises the DVC thanked the College principal Prof. Isaac Jumba for the great idea to have the restaurant built within the campus to offer diversity.
Prof. Jumba who under his reign as the principal Cees has overseen several projects within the campus to completion welcomed all the staff and students to the new restaurant and also encouraged them give their feedbacks and ideas to the Unichef Management on how to better their services.
Prof. Winston Akala, dean school of Education was a happy man stating that previously his staff had a hard time getting a meal since they had to go all the way to the administration block which was time consuming.
The staff and students present during the official opening ceremony were treated to a heavy free breakfast.
